These urns are fantastic replicas of Roman Urns from a thousand years ago complete with seal that can be kept on display before you bury or put them in water. They are made of cornstarch and are designed to dissolve completely in water, a stylish design that is perfect for a water burial. They will float for a few minutes then gently submerge and biodegrade completely. You can choose from Bronze, Blue Sky, Earth, Marina, or Brown. The Bronze, Brown and Blue Sky also have a stylish accompanying keepsake urn available.  Perfectly designed for a water burial in the sea, a lake or river, these biodegradable eco-urns are also suitable for land burial, moisture in the soil will help the urn to biodegrade.

This unique product is a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a loved one, the urn is designed to hold the ashes of your loved one and to substitute its lid for a small tree. Due to its composition, when being buried, the nutrients that go into making these handcrafted earth-made urns combine with those of the cremation ashes give to life to a beautiful tree.

These urns are made from a hardened organic material and mineral soil bound with natural plant extracts that break down and form part of the soil over time. They are all handmade in Spain and to date we are the only that stock them here in the UK -why have we imported them? because we think they are brilliant.

All urns are hand made using only mineral and vegetable ingredients. Raw material is 100% animal origin free.

The ashes are contained inside the biobag. So you just need to dig a little hole, place the urn in it, remove the lid, put some soil over the bag and over the little tree. See the picture diagram, the tree only becomes exposed to the ashes after it has established itself

This beautiful and unique urns are carved from a natural stone could rock salt, as the name suggests this natural deposit is made entirely of salt that when immersed in water will dissolve and allow the ashes into the water. The fact that it is a naturally occurring material makes every urn unique with swirling colours of white and orange. The urn is designed to float for a short while then as water starts to fill the urn it will submerge below the waters.

The Standard urn have a capacity of 3 litres which is equivalent to one adult. The smaller on takes approximately half the amount.

This floating quartz ball urn is ideally suited for water burial. The urn is made from sand and gelatine and has the capacity to hold the cremation ashes for one adult.

The urn is designed to float on the water for a few minutes allowing you time to say some words and cast petals or other natural tributes.

Each urn includes a biodegradable bag into which the cremated remains must be placed. No glue is required to seal the urn. Simply remove the lid, carefully moisten the inside lip and replace the lid. It will seal itself.

Each urn is shipped in a box with custom protective packaging that gives you a convenient and discreet transportation. The box (and urn) will pass through airport security screenings and can fit in the overhead compartment of most commercial airliners.

When buried in the ground, the urn will biodegrade within three months. Once placed in water, the urn will break down within three days.

The unique design of this urn showcases two custom features. Firstly, the top of the urn is adorned with handmade paper flowers which are painstakingly attached one at a time. The second is the opening and closing mechanism which includes a functional and attractive clasp to securely close the urn. This navy blue urn is handmade in paper card and will naturally biodegrade when buried in the earth.

This biodegradable water urn is handmade using a centuries old paper making technique. The bark from the mulberry tree is harvested, leaving the tree alive and intact. After the bark is soaked, the resulting pulp is laid out on bamboo screen.  Suitable for a river, lake or the sea when placed in water they will float briefly and then gracefully sink to the bottom, where they break down naturally over time. It comes in four colours and there is a matching 'mini'  urn available.

A wonderfully crafted environmentally-friendly and fairtrade cremation urn, we have seen a number of woven designs, but won't stock any other make, we think they are excellent. Made from Pandanus*, an environmentally-friendly alternative to seagrass, it comes with a thick cotton bag for the ashes. There are two designs, both in natural weave; the  Allium (Round Casket) or Tulip (Bell Shaped Casket).  This urn is ideal for burial at a formal grave site or green burial.

*Pandanus or wild pineapple is an environmentally friendly alternative to seagrass. Seagrass is an aquatic plant which grows in shallow coastal waters and provides shelter for many species of nursery fish. When this is harvested, the habitat is destroyed and the fish are endangered. Pandanus, on the other hand, is a prolific and rapidly growing weed which thrives anywhere on land, even in adverse conditions. When woven it is almost indistinguishable from seagrass.

These biodegradable Eco-urns are made from gelatin and sand and begin to dissolve once brought into contact with water or moisture, a stylish design that is perfect for a water burial. The ball urn will float for a few minutes then gradually submerge.  They are suitable for land burial too as the moisture in the soil will help the urn degrade.  The floating ball urns are available in white, burgundy, blue or walnut.

These exquisite urns are made from recycled paper and are individually hand finished.  They come in three different colours; the Moss Green is made from recycled silk and mulberry leaves which is made into paper, the Russet coloured paper is handmade, and the Gold  is prepared with a dark red base paper onto which Dutch metal gold leaf is applied. As the leaf is applied cracks and small breaks naturally appear in the surface, which allow the underlying red surface to show through and add to the overall richness of the finish. The stalk of the lid is made from a twist of recycled paper. Each urn is supplied individually boxed. The close fitting lid makes it ideal for the storage or burial of ashes.

A 100% cotton draw string ashes bag is also available as an optional extra for the interior. The ashes bag is secured with a draw string to the opening. Using a flexible bag secured over the opening of the standard plastic crematorium jar can make this easier to achieve and many people prefer to know that the ashes are additionally nested inside the new ashes urn.
