Birthstones for Ashes

Birthstones for Ashes

We have a range of birthstone colours that we can use to create birthstones for ashes for an existing piece of jewellery. We work with an amazingly talented local jeweller. She will use a small amount of ashes and set them within resin into an existing ring or charm.

Setting your loved one’s ashes into their birthstone colour is a very special way to remember them,  Here is the list of birthstones by month that might be helpful for you:

January = Garnet, although garnets can come in a wide range of colours it is traditionally a red colour

February = Amethyst, this is a beautiful purple colour.

March = Aquamarine, a gorgeous colour and what we base our Aqua coloured glass on.

April = Diamond, a girl’s best friend, not a cheap option but the ashes into diamonds can be faceted which works really well with more traditional jewellery items, our clear version is the closest option.

May = Emerald, a fabulous green and the gem of Venus.

June = Pearl, in the USA the Moonstone is also used.

July = Ruby, a deep red colour.

August = Peridot, a light green.

September = Sapphire, a dark blue.

October = Tourmaline or Opal,  tourmaline can often come in a really pretty pink.

November = Topaz, a dusky orange birthstone.

December = Turquoise, a light blue stone.

Ordering an Ashes Birthstone

If you choose an ashes birthstone you will be sent a pack with everything you need to send a small amount of ashes to our jeweller. We will email you with confirmation that the ashes have arrived safely. The ashes will be handmade into a gorgeous and unique ashes birthstone with a small amount of ashes set into the resin.  This will then be set into your jewellery. As soon as it is ready we will send you the completed item in a pretty presentation box. The whole process usually takes between 8 to 10 weeks from receipt of ashes.

Gift Voucher

If you have an urgent request why not consider a gift voucher instead? We can send a gift voucher in a beautiful card as a next day item (as long as you order before 2pm).

How your Ashes Birthstone Ring is made

The jeweller hand makes each birthstone by carefully setting a small amount of ashes into the coloured resin and then securely sealing it within the existing piece of jewellery.

Caring for your ashes to resin jewellery

Each stone is tested and can withstand an admirable amount of bashing and general wear and tear. We cannot guarantee it won’t break although the jeweller does test them thoroughly. As it is a resin it might scratch over time but we think this adds to it’s unique charm.
